Guided Wave Radar Level Meter

Guided wave radar level meters, commonly used in the chemical industry, operate on the principle of Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR): an electromagnetic pulse travels at the speed of light along a probe (cable or rod), and when it reaches the surface of the measured medium, part of the pulse is reflected back as an echo; the distance between the transmitter and the medium surface is proportional to the pulse’s round-trip travel time, from which the liquid level height is precisely calculated.
