26G Intelligent Radar Level Meter
Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar level meters operate by transmitting electromagnetic waves from the top of a tank; these waves reflect off the material surface and are received back by the radar. The frequency difference (δf) between the transmitted and received signals is proportional to the distance (R) from the radar to the material surface, following the formula: R = C · δf / (2K), where C is the speed of light and K is the frequency modulation slope. Since C and K are known constants, calculating δf yields the distance R; subtracting this “empty height” from the known total tank height gives the actual material level.
